Glow Guard
Glow Guard
The whole class guards one island until sunrise. Pop Gloomlings for coins, build towers that fire on their own, and answer questions to upgrade them. Save other roads and strike Big Gloom together. The egg’s glow determines the Sunbird that hatches.
Set up
Create a Set Game and choose Glow Guard. Use a Study Set with terms and definitions or images, or a Question Set with answer choices. A Study Set needs two different answers. Use Preview to play or watch Demo Mode.
How students play
- Build towers. Tap an empty site and pick Beam, Blast or Frost. A tower costs coins and fires on its own.
- Upgrade by answering. Tap a tower, pay coins, then answer to level it up. Towers keep firing. Wrong answer? Wait 3 seconds and try again.
- Strike until sunrise. Tap the road or Strike, or press Space. Every pop pays your crew coins. Guard the Dawn Egg until sunrise.
Keyboard: Left/Right selects a site; Enter opens its menu; 1–3 builds. On a tower, press Enter again to upgrade. Space strikes; 1–4 answers; Esc closes menus.
Play modes
- Multiplayer: Crews share roads within classroom teams.
- Challenge: Two students defend separate roads; the higher score wins.
- Single Player: Play alongside and against computer guards.
- Solo Arcade: Uses Single Player rules after deck completion, when the game is available, the teacher allows Arcade and time remains.
Classroom moments
- Save!: A Gloomling that slips past another crew runs for the egg. If you are sent to save it, strike the runner before it gets there.
- Big Gloom: Between waves Big Gloom looms over the island. The whole class strikes it before it slams the egg and dims its glow.
- The Sunfeather: The Sunfeather doubles its holder's strikes. It flies to whoever makes a save, or strikes Big Gloom the most.
Rounds last 2:00, with 1:00 and 3:00 options. Pops, upgrades, saves and boss hits earn points. The dawn rush doubles pop scores. Egg glow gives 3 stars at 80% or 2 at 50%; otherwise 1 star.
The teacher uses Launch, End and Configure. Project the live island to follow shared waves, saves and scores. Start with a short, familiar Set and let students build before their first upgrade question.
